Hagfish vs Shark: A Slimy Defence Mechanism

Hagfishes (Myxinidae) are a family of jawless marine pre-vertebrates. These video images taken in New Zealand reveal that hagfishes are able to choke their would-be predators, including sharks, with gill-clogging slime.
